Amblyopia, aka suppressed eye is a defect in brain-eye coordination that causes the brain to ignore the visual signals supplied by one eye, especially when both eyes are looking. Amblyopia is rarely accompanied by any physical inability of the visual system that would cause the condition. As such, it is a mystery to traditional optometry.
The field of natural vision improvement, however, does not shy away from this condition. Instead, it meets the suppressed eye with kindness, understanding, and care, and it encourages the brain to create new neural pathways that allow it to include the eye’s signals in the visual processing and therefore in seeing. To support this process, it is important to provide clear immediate feedback to the brain, so that as soon as it loses the connection with the eye, it is immediately reminded to resume it.
This month’s technique provides just that. An immediate feedback to the eye and to the brain is ensured through the use of Collimator (narrow-view) Tubes. The tool simplifies the environment in which the eyes and the brain function, by temporarily eliminating most of the peripheral vision field. The training protocol builds on the Tubes Targeting lesson and does include some of the elements of the technique taught there, so that the Split Tubes lesson is able to stand on its own.
This technique is also beneficial for the general training of binocularity.
Enjoy the lesson and may your eyesight be boundless.
