Game-like training for binocular and 3D vision development

These dual slit collimator (narrow view) tubes support a game-like vision training activity by limiting peripheral distraction and providing precise & immediate feedback in the process of:

  • activating a lazy or suppressed eye,

  • releasing strabismus (turning/wandering eye),

  • addressing double vision

  • promoting proper focusing

LEAVE THE PAST IN THE PAST

“If you are practicing natural vision improvement or undergoing vision therapy while dealing with amblyopia, strabismus or uneven acuity between the two eyes, you have likely used paper towel tubes to help your eyes see better - individually and together. But paper towel tubes don’t keep their round shape (if they ever have it), they are not dark, and they drop paper dust into one’s eyes. Adjusting them for advanced practice further damages them and limits their use. That is why I decided to fix the problem and introduce the Collimator Tubes. They address all of the above issues and add additional functionality, so you can practice safely, with better feedback and better results.

THE SPECIAL FEATURES OF THESE TUBES

Round and durable

This sounds very basic, of course, but if you are asked to see a circle, you need a tool that shows you … well … a circle.

Overbound Collimator Tubes are made of durable plastic that keeps its shape and shows you clean round openings anytime you look through them.

Removable two color slits

For progressive training the tubes are equipped with two removable caps, one green and one red. Each cap contains one perfectly centered slit that always gets you know which eye is looking and how well. It also helps with the training of central fixation/foveal focus and with focus alignment.

So forget yarn and tape. These caps screw on and off in seconds, so you can adjust your training as needed.

Vertical? Horizontal?

This may seem minor, but following instructions is much easier when they are simple and clear. Your focus is to train vision, not your directional orientation, and so “turn the green tube to 3” goes much faster and is less disruptive than “turn the green tube so that the central slit goes from the top left to bottom right”

To give your teacher and to yourself the ability to effectively communicate the steps of a technique, the individual positions of the central caps are numbered.

  • 2 - vertical

  • 4 - horizontal

  • 1 & 3 - diagonals

Black & Matte

The tubes’ black color allows the eyes to rest in the areas that are not being trained. The matte inside prevents unwanted light reflection that may distract training or make seeing more difficult.

Hygenic

All parts are made of plastic that can be easily washed. Also, unlike paper tubes, it sheds no dust. And so it is safer to use and reuse.

TRAINING WITH COLLIMATOR TUBES

If you are currently taking part in a guided vision improvement program, please follow your instructor’s directions.

Otherwise, lessons leveraging the Collimator Tubes are part of all full scope Overbound programs, such as Clarity Unleashed or Boundless Eyesight. Please see which one fits best your circumstances and needs.

Also, due to a high demand of our clients, we are preparing a “Training with Collimator Tubes” standalone class that will be published in late August/early September 2026 within our Specialty classes portfolio. Should you be interested in knowing when it becomes available, please register below.
